A Different Kind of Football Club

We're a youth football club with a focused approach to player development.

How It All Began

My 8-year-old son wanted to play football, but finding the right fit proved challenging. After sitting on the waiting list for six months at established clubs in our area, I decided to get involved. Like many parents before me, I volunteered to coach a team - just a dad helping out… nothing special.

I never intended to start something new. But sometimes life takes unexpected turns.

Our Club Structure

Creating FCC has allowed us to build a program that emphasises individual player development. We've chosen to structure ourselves as a single team club - one age group, one squad, one focus. This approach enables us to provide concentrated attention on our under 10s (soon to be under 11s) team.

Every FCC player benefits from structured coaching and attention. We run multiple training sessions each week and have established progression paths into the JPL for players who would benefit from this challenge.

Our Coaching Philosophy

My background combines elements from different experiences. While I played at a competitive level in my youth, our coaching approach draws from diverse influences. Great coaching is fundamentally about effective communication and knowledge transfer, which is what our coaching team strives to provide.

We draw inspiration from various fields including sport science, education, and youth development research. Our goal is to provide effective and engaging coaching that connects with young players. We're based in Chilton, Oxfordshire, where we're working to contribute positively to the local football community.

Development Through Competition

Our players have enjoyed a fantastic first season, they were unbeaten in the league and won the end of season trophy event playing against established teams two divisions higher.

While winning is enjoyable, our primary focus remains player development through competition. Football is inherently competitive, and we embrace this aspect of the game while ensuring it serves our development goal of developing the best footballers we can.

The Road Ahead

Having started in the F league as newcomers, we're looking forward to the challenges that playing in a higher league will bring next season. Wherever we're placed, our focus remains consistent: developing skilled, thoughtful footballers who love the game and support each other.

As FCC grows, we're building relationships with other clubs and our community. We're proud to work in partnership with Procision Oxford, supporting their efforts to provide additional JPL opportunities to young players throughout Oxfordshire. We see potential in many players across all local leagues, and through our arrangement with Procision Oxford, we hope to support as many committed players from throughout the community as we can.
