Football Club Chilton - FCC - FC Chilton.

Call it what you want, we're a youth football club trying to find a better way to develop players.

We've done our coaching badges as we feel traditional approaches provide a valuable foundation. But we've gone deeper, tumbling down the rabbit hole mixing published research with novel theories about how football actually works.

Our hypothesis: Decision-making beats technique. And it's trainable.

Our Approach

Single squad. Combined coaching. Two teams proving fair game time whatever the standard.

Multiple weekly sessions focused on decision-making training over drills. Technique matters, but it's useless without knowing when and where to use it. As for fitness training? We feel it is best done with the ball in play.

We coach while our players are playing football, not through drills.

Our bet: Self-discovered patterns transfer to match day. Coached techniques don't.

Who Is This For

Kids who want to improve and parents who feel their kids would benefit from a different style of coaching.

Our sessions look different. Less shouting. More thinking. Players signalling their own success. It's purposeful, research-based, and occasionally messy.

We provided professional-level coaching at grassroots level at a price that is affordable for everyone. Our aim isn't to profit from youth football, it is to explore, test, and understand if there is a better way to coach football.

We're obsessed, in a good way meaning your child gets access to innovative thinking and coaching, with a direct progression route into JPL football for those who we think would benefit.

Our Future

We're still early in our journey, but the signs are promising. Every club has its approach. This is ours. No point hiding it.
